The “Ultra Classic” is one of  the most innovative and ingeniously designed retractable awnings on the market today! The Ultra Classic has the Ultra beam stabilizer bar that gives a “hip roof” shape when extended. This design makes the Ultra Classic stronger and more stable in wind. The fabric is kept tighter. And there is less sagging, which can occur on conventional awnings. The increased slope at the front of the awning gives better low angle sun protection – making it especially effective for southern and western exposures. Most importantly, the “hip roof” design gives you far more headroom than any other conventional lateral arm patio awning. This is important because mounting it higher gives better sun protection and a more spacious feel to your outdoor living areas.

This feature will allow you to adjust you awning to “follow the sun” as it rises and sets. On exposures facing west you may have a problem in the early evenings when the sun begins its descent. With pitch adjustment this is accomplished with the turn of crank. You can easily adjust the angle of the awning to the desired position – even with the awning fully extended. This option is available on the Classic and Ultra Classic awning up to 19’ in width.

The “Classic” can be customized in cases where you require an awning for smaller, narrower patio areas. For example, an 8’ wide awning can now extend up to a maximum of 9’ 10”!! This compact style of awning slopes down in a straight line when extended. This is a very functional awning and might be chosen when height isn’t an issue or if that classic “European” look is desired.

Retractable patio awnings can be operated a number of ways. Gear operated with detachable crank handle is standard, and out high speed Geiger bevel gears are fast. Smooth and easy to operate. For greater ease and convenience, we suggest adding a motor and switch. For maximum convenience, consider remote control or automated systems including wind or sun and wind sensors that control the awning for you.
